Wicklow Town CFR Volunteers

Below is a brief overview of our volunteers all from different walks of life but all passionate about helping the people of Wicklow Town.

Fiona is the group Co-Coordinator, she has been living in wicklow town for many years and is one of the longest serving members of the wicklow town CFR group. Fiona works for Wicklow Volunteer Centre on the South Quay in Wicklow town.

Liam has been living in Wicklow Town for many years and is also one of the initial members of the Wicklow Town CFR group. Liam is qualified as a “Heartsaver” and a Cardiac First Responder Instructor; He along with our other instructors oversees our monthly crew training. Liam also participates in the training, certification and the promoting of CPR in the Wicklow community. Liam works as an IT Project Leader in south county Dublin.

James has been a wicklow resident since 1996 and a member of Wicklow CFR since 2015. By profession he is a physical therapist and runs a clinic in the town. James very kindly looks after all the public defibrillators in the town checking them on a weekly basis. James is also the founder of the Wicklow wolves softball club.

Margaret has been a member of the CFR group now for 2 years, a wicklow resident now for 11 years. Margaret has been a nurse for 24 years and has a wealth of experience - she joined the CFR group to help fellow wicklow residents and to support their families. Margaret is also a CFR Instructor.

Robert Downes joined the First Responders in 2014. He has lived in Wicklow Town for over 20 years and works in both Wicklow and Kilkenny. He is responsible for gathering our monthly statistics on the type of calls we are receiving and the speed of our response times. He stars as the 'patient' in our you tube clip on the home page.

Patrick lives in Wicklow town with his wife Myrtle. He works in Social Care and has been a member of the CFR group for the last two years. Doesn't own a dog

Myrtle joined the CFR group with her husband Patrick in 2015. She is a native of Wicklow town and initially trained as a Paediatric Nurse with over thirty years experience in the caring profession. Myrtle recently became a CFR instructor with a view to encouraging and promoting the use of CPR in the local community.

Caroline joined the CFR group in 2016. She has been living in Wicklow for over 10 years and is an English and French teacher.

Chris joined the CFR group in 2016. She lives in Wicklow with her husband, two daughters and big yugely dog!

Anton joined Wicklow CFR in 2018 and has been living in Rathnew since 2004, Anton lives with his wife, two kids and his beloved Dashund ‘Buddy’. Anton  has been involved in the fitness industry all his life and owns 2 gyms.

Amanda moved to Wicklow in 2017 and has been a member of the CFR group now for nearly one year. She joined the CFR group to give back to the Wicklow community, who have been so welcoming to yet another Dub moving to this beautiful friendly county!

Garret joined the CFR group at the start of 2018.  He has been living in Wicklow for the past 17 years with his wife, kids and too many dogs.
